Setting Up Your Inspiration

Inspiration will help keep you motivated to do the actions you’ve committed to.  To get started, click the Inspiration icon in the Navigation Bar. From here, you can either add inspiration from the Inspiration Stream, browse the Mindbloom Galleries, or upload your own.  The Inspiration Stream is useful if you’re not sure what inspires you yet, and helps you discover what others in the community have used to inspire themselves.
To add an image, quote, or song from the Inspiration Stream, click the arrow on the right of the inspiration item you would like to add.

Click the orange Add to my inspiration… button in the upper right corner to bring up the Life Area and Privacy menus.  Click the respective dropdown menus to select where on your tree the inspiration goes, and who you want to see it.  Once you are done, click the orange Save button.  Repeat as many times as you wish (keep scrolling down to load more inspiration!)

To add a quote, image, or song, click the Quotes Icon, Images Icon, or Music Icon.  From here, you will see an upload and browse button.  To view the Mindbloom Gallery for that specific Inspiration type, click the Browse button.

To upload a quote, click the Upload a Quote button.  You can type or copy and paste your favorite quotes here.  No need to include the quotes, we’ll do it for you!  No need to put a dash in front of the author either, we’ve got it covered.

When you’re done selecting the Life Area and Privacy level, click the Orange Save button to continue.

To upload an image, click the Upload an Image button.  You have a limit of ten uploads to begin with, but you can buy more uploads with seeds in the Market, or get GrowPro for an even larger capacity.

Click Choose File to open the file selection interface.  The recommended image resolution, size, and file type is less than 5mb and approximately an average computer wallpaper size (1024×768) in .jpeg, .png, and .tiff.  If the image is a different ratio or shape, parts of the image may be cut off.  Use Aviary to edit photos as needed.

Once you are done, click the Orange Save button to continue.

To upload a song, click the Upload a Song button.  You have a limit of three uploads to begin with, but you can buy more uploads with seeds in the Market, or get GrowPro for an even larger capacity.

Click Choose File to open the file selection interface.  The file must be less than 10mb in size, and be in a .mp3, .mp4, or .m4a format.

Once the upload has completed (this may take some time depending on file size and internet connection), the system will try to grab as much information as possible on the song through iTunes and Amazon music such as album name, cover image, artist name, etc.  This may not always work if the song was downloaded from other sources. In addition, you must have an up to date version of Adobe Flash installed for music to play. Check if you have the latest version here.

Once you are done, click the orange Save button to continue.

To manage your existing inspiration, click the Manage button in the upper right corner.

You can delete or change the privacy level of any of the inspiration items you’ve added here.

Viewing Your Inspiration

There are two methods to view your inspiration: you can view each item individually or in slideshow form.  To view your inspiration individually, click your inspiration in the Inspiration Stream (filtering to By Me will show only inspiration you’ve posted).

Once the detail view is open, you can add comments to the discussion around the inspiration item.

For songs, you can click the play button to start that song (it will fade out the currently playing song if there is one.  Make sure your music setting is on!)

To view your inspiration slideshow, click the Sun icon.

From here, your images and quotes will be shown from randomized list of your inspiration.  A song will be randomly chosen from your playlist as well, and will cycle through all your songs as you watch.  You can chose to enable or disable the slideshow’s zoom and pan motion in the Options tab of Settings.  The Navigation Bar is still usable while in Sun View.

  2. Hi, I’d like to know how to slow down the rate at which inspiration pictures change in the ‘Sun View.’ Is that possible or did I just miss where the setting is?
