    If you smell each food before you eat you might sesnse if this is what your body needs at this time. If the smell is appetising to you, your digestion is getting ready to get the most out of that food.

    Irritable gut plagues me at times. One key for me is avoiding sugar and alcohol, it makes the digestive bacteria hyeractive and impulsive, and get up to mischief, like hyperactive kids and valdalism. Encourages the naughty ones to breed like weeds. Another key is calm. A third is smell your food and only eat it if it positively appeals - because then you know it close to what your body needs at the moment, and also it tells the stomach what's coming and gives it a chance to prepare. Floury foods need mouth saliva to help with digestion, so nibble slowly to let the mouth to its job (and don't drink water or anything else during the meal, leave this for later). This is what helps me through reative times.

    My comfort breakfast is one-minute oats, and to cool it down enough to eat straight away, I add a half cup of frozen fruit. I actually prefer making it with water, more flavour in the oats. Them I use the milk for milky coffee - to get energised for croquet - or on my days off, enjoy computer, so much to explore, we live in a wondrous age, thanks to the millions who put such brilliant content there. Teds Talks I visit daily, as well as musicians playing classics, on utube.
