“Someone I respect a great deal once told me that ‘shyness is pride.' What he meant was that shy people spend too much time worrying about themselves and how they look in the eyes of other people, when they should be focusing on what's outside, trying to do a good job, trying to add value to the situation. This is brilliant advice – start thinking about others and less about yourself. In fact, everyone else is actually thinking about themselves, too. Nobody really cares about you. So stop being so self absorbed.”

The assumption is that if a person is not an extrovert, it is because they are scared to speak and that they are self absorbed (that means arrogant, not that they enjoy reflecting on life). This may be true of some, but certainly not all. There are plenty of people who are introverted, simply because they enjoy the quiet. To assume people who are quiet are egotists and that people who run their mouth are well-adjusted and caring is to ignore reality. The quote is made for a black and white world where the author is the epitome of perfection and any who are different are wrong, but we live in a world full of shades of grey, where there is good and bad in every person.

I don't think it's true that "nobody really cares about you." Otherwise, the advice is okay :)

The devs are not only great at developing and testing, they also have a great sense of design. :) No worries.

No, it's a bug. I had it the first day, and now it seems to be back. I'm writing to Support as we speak. (FYI, there was only my one comment when I last looked. It's cloning itself when I log off. Very odd.)

I'd rather be shy than a social butterfly trying to prove how wonderful I am to the rest of the world. I prefer quiet solitude to celebrity status.
