Voice Journaling: A Tool for Integration and Growth

Discover how Mindbloom’s voice-journaling feature helps you capture and visualize key images, feelings, and insights from your sessions—allowing you to heal in a whole new way.
Why journaling makes all the difference for psychedelic therapy
To be blunt, if you're not doing ketamine therapy you're just doing ketamine. Integration is crucial for successful outcomes. And Mindbloom is committed to ensuring that our clients get the best possible outcomes.
That's why we decided to take our mindful journaling feature to the next level—designed to make the sometimes challenging and confusing process of integration not only seamless, but also provide additional insights that you might not have arrived at on your own.
Because healing isn’t just what happens during the experience. It’s what you do with it afterward.
Read on for what you can expect and how to use these features in your next session:
How voice-journaling takes your integration to the next level
Journaling is a powerful tool in your toolkit when it comes to ketamine therapy. However, after a session, you might not feel ready to write things down, mentally or physically, due to the waning effects of the medicine or powerful sensations that arose.
Many Bloomineers (how to we refer to those who work at Mindbloom) are also Mindbloom clients, and even we feel stuck sometimes when it comes to journaling. ‘Where do I even start?’ ‘What if some of my thoughts are unclear, and I don’t know quite how to make sense of what I’ve just seen, sensed, and experienced?’. And a hopefully relatable one, ‘Wow, I can’t read my own handwriting'.
We sought to create features that we would want to guide us through the process of journaling, features to help us arrive at meaningful post-session insights we might not have otherwise.
With voice-journaling, it’s now easier than ever to navigate this part of the Mindbloom program and capture your thoughts while they’re fresh.
Where to find it
After you hear the second chime in the audio track, you’ll remove your eyemask and make your way back toward reentry. In the app, you’ll see a button that says Proceed to journaling. Tapping this will bring you into the guided post-session journaling feature designed to facilitate meaningful integration.

How to use it
Take your time, speak aloud, and the app will transform your answer into written text. As you talk, don’t worry if your thoughts don’t feel fully resolved, or even linear. That’s totally normal and part of the integration process.
You’ll follow 3 prompts total. Tap the big circular icon at the bottom of the screen to record, pause, and even add more before advancing to the next prompt.

Where can I find my responses afterward?
Your responses can be found in the Journal tab of your app—which is fully private and only accessible to you. The SUMMARY view is where you'll find themes, artwork, and integration ideas generated from your voice journal entry. Tap FULL ENTRY to revisit your dialogue from the prompts.
*Pro Tip: Perhaps something new came up in the days following and you want to add it to your session entry. Tap the pencil icon at the top to add or edit.

From insights to integration: What happens next?
With the voice-journaling feature, we don’t just stop at capturing your journal entry. The app goes a few steps further to support your growth:
- We distill core themes that emerged in your voice-journaling—emotions, topics, and more. You can use them as a shorthand reminder of what came up in each experience, and return to your full journal entry whenever you like.
- We surface personalized integration ideas based on each session, so you can choose 1–3 small actions to commit to in the days and weeks ahead. This is a key part of the healing process. For added accountability or coaching, we encourage you to share these with your guide.
- We create custom artwork—a visual expression of your session, inspired by your words and themes that arose. This image becomes a kind of totem: a tangible memory you can return to when you need to reconnect. You can even save and share your artwork with others in the Mindbloom Community.
Returning to voice journaling at a later time
We encourage you to integrate in the way that makes the most sense for you. In speaking with clients, we found that some prefer to write and reflect in their physical journal first, but still want themes, artwork, and integration ideas offered by the voice journaling feature.
That’s why we made it easy to return to voice journaling in the days after a session! Just tap the banner at the top of your Home tab to jump right back in.
